Emily E. Roach

Emily E. Roach is a doctoral candidate in the Department of English and Related Literature at the University of York, a pop culture freelance writer and an LGBT activist. Emily researches fandom and post-Stonewall American LGBT fiction, including performance poetry and young adult fiction. Her research is currently focused on online creative communities, theorizing online space and LGBT fiction hosted online, specifically queer poetry and fan fiction. She is a writer of slash fiction and has published several articles on Harry Potter. She has articles forthcoming on queerbaiting in Supernatural, the queer subtext of Stranger Things and the evolution of fandom platforms.
