Emily Jean Hood

Emily Jean Hood is an artist, teacher and researcher. She is currently serving as assistant professor and coordinator of art education at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock. Her work explores mess as a site where materiality and sociocultural perspectives on art and education converge. She is an award-winning art educator and co-editor of the book Pedagogies in the Flesh: Case Studies on the Embodiment of Sociocultural Differences in Education (Palgrave, 2018). Her scholarship has been published in Studies in Art Education, Art Education and the International Journal of Education and the Arts, among others.
