Erik R. Lofgren

Erik R. Lofgren teaches Japanese language, literature and film at Bucknell University. His research interests lie in broad questions of representation: of the self in Japanese war literature, and of sexual desire in film. He has previously published on the literature of Umezaki Haruo, Furui Yoshikichi and Ōoka Shohei. He has also published on the film Rashōmon and its US adaptation, The Outrage. He is currently working on a poetry translation project.
