Eva Brandt

Eva Brandt, Ph.D., is a professor at Design School Kolding (DSKD, 2019–present). She is leading the Lab for Social Design which explores socially sustainable futures within social design, social innovation and welfare design. The overall research themes are Citizenship, Together-ness and Ongoing-ness. Eva has a special interest in developing approaches and methods for dealing with complex civil challenges through collaborative design (co-design)/participatory design/design-anthropology processes that include trans-disciplinary collaborations across institutional boundaries and with citizens at large. Eva contributes with knowledge e.g. on democratic design experiments, participation and learning in design and collaborative methods and approaches for how designers can stage and perform open design processes (design labs and living labs) where a diverse group of participants can both familiarize existing practices and explore and rehearse possible futures collaboratively. Eva has published more than 70 books, articles and papers. Eva has been chairing the international NORDES conference in 2013 and 2021.
