F. Evan Nooe
F. Evan Nooe is an assistant professor of history and historian for the Native American Studies Center at the University of South Carolina Lancaster. His teaching and research focus on the American South, Native American history, foodways and tourism. His work has appeared in journals such as Journal of Tourism History, Ethnohistory and The Southern Quarterly. His book Aggression and Sufferings: Settler Violence, Native Resistance, and the Coalescence of the Old South (University of Alabama Press, 2024) examines how the violent dispossession and erasure of Indigenous people remade the region. Nooe’s current project examines the intersection of Florida history, memory and tourism at Walt Disney World’s Disney Springs.
