Farid Laroussi

Farid Laroussi is Associate Professor in the Department of French, Hispanic & Italian Studies at the University of British Columbia. He teaches contemporary French and francophone studies. He has published extensively on questions pertaining to identity and representation within the postcolonial context. His articles have appeared in Yale French Studies, International Journal of Francophone Studies, Interventions: Journal of Postcolonial Studies, Australian Journal of French Studies, Nouvelles Études Francophones or in Le Monde. Farid Laroussi’s newest book is: Postcolonial Counterpoint: Orientalism, France and the Maghreb (University of Toronto Press, 2016).
