Federica Muzzarelli

Federica Muzzarelli is a full-time professor of photography and visual culture at the University of Bologna. She is the editor-in-chief of the series Cultures, Fashion and Society (Pearson Bruno Mondadori, 2015) and coordinator of the CFC – International Research Centre. Muzzarelli’s main research interests are focused on the topic of photography. Among her recent books and papers: Femmes Photographes – Emancipation et Performance 1850–1940 (Éditions Hazan, 2009); From Family Album to Snapshot Style: Notes on the Aesthetics of the Snapshot Style between Art and Fashion (Pearson, 2015); Lee Miller and Man Ray: Photography, Fashion, Art (Atlante, 2016); ‘Women photographers and female identities: Annemarie Schwarzenbach, new dandy and lesbian chic’ (2018); Photography and the Political Body of Women (Pearson, 2019); Photography and Media Celebrity: Dandyism/Neodandyism and Dress Code, Notebook 2020 (Pearson, 2020).
