Fiona Keenan

Dr Fiona Keenan is a lecturer in sound production at the School of Arts and Creative Technologies, University of York, United Kingdom. Her research and practice explore the affective experience of performative soundmaking, whether acoustic or digital – focusing on mechanical sound producers, theatrical sound props, augmented instruments and software-based systems. She is interested in the origins and contexts of the creative technologies we use, including how we use and learn to use them.
