Francis Dubé

Francis Dubé is full professor in instrumental pedagogy at Université Laval, has an outstanding record of leadership and innovation in music education. His research interests focus on the integration of informal learning activities in the formal teaching of musical instruments in the out-of-school environment, use technologies in the learning of musical instruments and learning music through play approach. His research is funded by the FRQ-SC (programmes: New Researcher Professor/ 2007–10, Support for Research/ Leadership Teams/ 2014–16) and SSHRC (programmes: Development-Knowledge/ 2014–16; partnership/ 2015–18; Insight/2020–25). He also received a major grant from the CFI for the construction of the Research Laboratory for Instrumental and Ear Training (LaRFADI). Francis Dubé is director of the University of Youth Music Play(ers) (UJM) and a regular member of OICRM-ULaval.
