Franz Krüger
Franz Krüger is associate researcher with the Wits Centre for Journalism, at the University of the Witwatersrand, Johannesburg and also holds a position as associate researcher at NLA Mediahøgskolen in Kristiansand, Norway. He worked in professional journalism for many decades, including in the anti-apartheid alternative media and as senior member of the first post-apartheid editorial management team at the South African Broadcasting Corporation. He was founding director of the Wits Radio Academy as well as head of Wits Journalism. With an MA from City University, London, and a Ph.D. in journalism ethics from Wits University, his research interests include community media, sustainability, journalism ethics and journalism education.
