Friederike Frost

Friederike ‘Frieda’ Frost is a dance, sport and hip hop scholar and Ph.D. student at the Institute for Dance and Movement Culture, German Sport University Cologne, researching the transcultural flows of breaking culture and movements, belonging in global dance communities and values of embodied knowledge in academic discourse. Frieda Frost is a freelance dance artist, dance pedagogue, lecturer and organizer, and is cultural coordinator of the Goethe-Institut Marokko in Rabat, Morocco. A performer herself, she is factory artist at the tanzhaus nrw in Düsseldorf, Germany. Known as ‘B-Girl Frost’, she is often touring in the international breaking scene as a judge or participant in battles, or organizing own dance events and projects. She is a founding member of the European Hip Hop Studies Network.
