Gaojie Pan
Dr Pan Gaojie is a lecturer in Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts, School of Arts and Humanities. She is currently based in Guangzhou, China. She received a Ph.D. in art history from the Chinese University of Hong Kong and a bachelor’s degree from China Central Academy of Fine Arts. Her research interests include non-anthropocentrism and animal engagement in contemporary art; feminism and ecological art; curatorial and exhibition studies. Her Ph.D. dissertation titled ‘Periphery and otherness: Animals in contemporary Chinese art’, works on animal-themed practices under the context of urbanization and globalization of China.
