Georgia Aitaki

Georgia Aitaki is a senior lecturer in media and communication studies at Örebro University, Sweden. Her doctoral dissertation ‘The private life of a nation in crisis: A study on the politics in/of Greek television fiction’ (University of Gothenburg, 2018) addresses the role of television fiction in representing and shaping moments of heightened societal tension, while registering how these moments reflect back on questions of national identity. Parts of this work have been published in Media, Culture and Society; Social Semiotics; and Screen. In 2019 she co-edited ‘Introduction to Greek Television Studies: (Re)Reading Greek Television Fiction since 1989’, a Special Issue published in Filmicon: Journal of Greek Film Studies.
