Gerrard Carter
From Broadway to the West End, La Scala to the Academy Awards, Gerrard has enjoyed a successful international career as a professional dancer prior to being awarded his Ph.D. from the University of Melbourne School of Languages and Linguistics in 2018. It was while dancing on Broadway that he graduated magna cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa from Columbia University in New York with a BA (Hons) in French and Italian winning both the Senior French Prize and the Benedetto Marraro Prize for distinction in Italian studies. Gerrard teaches English in the Département d’études du monde Anglophone (DEMA) at Aix-Marseille Université and is a lecturer in dance at the University of South Florida’s dance programme in Paris. Gerrard continues to work as a guest lecturer in dance at a number of universities and elite performing arts academies throughout Europe and Australia.
