Gigi Argyropoulou

Gigi Argyropoulou is a researcher, theorist, director and curator working in the fields of performance and cultural practice based in Athens and London. Gigi has initiated and organized festivals, conferences, performances, actions and interventions both inside and outside institutions. She holds a Ph.D. from Roehampton University that focused on space, politics and performance. Gigi is a founding member of Green Park, Mavili Collective, Institute for Live Arts Research and Mkultra. As a member of Mavili and other collectives, Gigi co-initiated cultural occupations, interventions, public programmes and cultural critique actions in Athens during the crisis. She received the Routledge Prize for PSi 18, and her work has been published in journals, books and magazines. Gigi was co-editor of the special issue of Performance Research Journal ‘On Institutions’ (September 2015). She co-initiated the DIY Performance Biennial (Athens, 2016) and co-curated its first edition.
