Gunter Kreutz

Gunter Kreutz is Professor of Systematic Musicology, Oldenburg University, Oldenburg, Germany. Gunter Kreutz studied (historical) musicology, media studies and literature at the University of Marburg, and (systematic) musicology and Communication Scientific basis of speech and music at the Technical University of Berlin. After a year abroad studying at the San Francisco State University, United States, he earned Master of Arts degree from the Technical University of Berlin. In 2004 he was appointed University Lecturer in Music Education at the Goethe University in Frankfurt, with a focus on systematic musicology. From April 2006 to April 2008 Kreutz worked as a Research Fellow at the Royal Northern College of Music, Manchester, United Kingdom. In February 2008 he was offered a professorship of Systematic Musicology at the Carl von Ossietzky University of Oldenburg. His research interests lie in music (neuro) cognitive and emotional (social) psychology of music, performance, music and health research.
