Hala Jaber

Dr Hala Jaber is a Palestinian community musician. She has recently obtained her Ph.D. arts practice (music) at the Irish World Academy of Music and Dance, UL (2020), where she previously graduated from the MA community music programme. Her Ph.D. research examined community music approaches and best practice when working in the context of post-conflict migration. Her research interests include community music as tool of integration and exploring extending safety beyond the community music workshop. Her most recent publication is ‘Navigating the borderline: An exploration of emerging borders inside the community music workshop’ (in K. T. Vu. and A. Quadros [eds], My Body Was Left on the Street: Music Education and Displacement, Boston: Sense Publishers [2020]).
