Halszka Leleń

Halszka Leleń is an assistant professor at the Institute of Literary Studies, University of Warmia and Mazury in Olsztyn, Poland. Her research focuses on short story poetics as well as the literary, filmic and intermedia storytelling. She analyses the narrative, semiotic and axiological patterns of the British fiction and poetry from the late nineteenth century to the present, with particular focus on the short stories of the Scottish archipelagos. Her publications include articles on the turn-of-the century and contemporary short fiction, and a monograph entitled H. G. Wells: The Literary Traveller in His Fantastic Short Story Machine (Peter Lang, 2016). She is a member of the European Network for Short Fiction Research (ENSFR), the Association for Scottish Literary Studies (ASLS) and a supporting member of the Commission on Communication Ethics of the Polish Academy of Arts and Sciences.
