Hannah Schwadron
Hannah Schwadron (MFA, Ph.D.) is an assistant professor of dance at Florida State University, where she teaches coursework in dance history and critical theory, choreography and performance. She performed improvisation with Los Angeles-based dance company, Susan Rose and Dancers from 2008 to 2013, and continues to work through the applications of Rose’s core repertory in her own choreographic practice and writing projects. Hannah is author of The Case of the Sexy Jewess: Dance, Gender and Jewish Joke-Work in US Pop Culture (Oxford University Press, 2018), which deploys much of what she learned working with Rose to address key concerns of dance humour and selfparody in the context of Jewish femininity.
