Harald C. Bentz Høgseth

Dr Harald C. Bentz Høgseth is a professor in conservation oriented towards craft science, in the Department of Conservation at the University of Gothenburg. He is also the associate professor of Arts and Crafts, Department of Teacher Education, Faculty of Educational Sciences. Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU), Norway. He has a background as a carpenter and archaeologist. Høgseth’s approach is archaeological, ethnological and craft-oriented. His research interests are related to ontological and epistemological aspects of craft. He teaches at bachelor’s, master’s and Ph.D. levels and supervises Ph.D. students and post-doctoral fellows. Høgseth established and directed the educational programme in Craft Heritage and Building Conservation at South Trøndelag University College, today Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU). He works as the deputy head of research, and a member of the Craft Laboratory’s steering group in the Department of Conservation at the University of Gothenburg.
