Hayley Alyce Thompson

Hayley Alyce Thompson is an emerging researcher and graduate of Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology (RMIT) University, completing a Master of Design (Fashion and Textiles) by research. Within the field of sustainable and ethical fashion research, Hayley’s thesis explores slow fashion within the fashion system and the possible holistic integration of mindfulness practice to enhance the slow fashion movement for human and environmental well-being. Her broader research interests align with the interdisciplinary enrichment of slow, sustainable and ethical fashion in shaping a set of fundamental, alternative fashion values and practices, within the fashion system, to address social and environmental issues relevant to design, production and consumption. She is drawn to critiques of how to live well, what it is to be human and what makes a truly thriving society for human well-being and environmental sustainability.
