Heather Marie Akou
Heather Marie Akou is an associate professor in the Eskenazi School of Art, Architecture and Design at Indiana University, specializing in historical research on fashion, dress and the body. Her recent publications include articles in the International Journal of Fashion Studies (2019), Clothing Cultures (2020), Fashion, Style & Popular Culture (2020) and the Journal of Dress History (2021). A co-edited anthology, Creating African Fashion Histories: Politics, Museums, and Sartorial Practices, is forthcoming with Indiana University Press in 2022.
