Helga Schmid
Helga Schmid is an artist, designer, researcher and educator. She is a resident at Somerset House and course leader for BA in Graphic and Media Design at London College of Communication. Previously, she was a designer in residence at the Design Museum in London, a researcher at the Museum of Modern Art in New York, and Senior Tutor at the Royal College of Art. As an artist and designer, her work has been exhibited worldwide, including the Serpentine Gallery, Design Museum and V&A Museum in London, Dia Art Foundation in New York and Z33 in Belgium. She is the author of Uchronia: Designing Time (2020), published by Birkhäuser. She has received international awards including the Art and Type Directors Award, as well as Fulbright and DAAD scholarships. She holds an MFA from the School of Visual Arts in New York, and a Ph.D. from the Royal College of Art.
