Helge Rønning
Helge Rønning (1943) is emeritus professor of media studies, University of Oslo, Norway; senior affiliated researcher at Chr. Michelsen Institute, Bergen. He has been a member of The Norwegian Government Commission for Freedom of Expression (1996–97) and The Public Service Broadcasting Council (1996–2004); member and chair of public and government councils and committees; chairman of the Norwegian Non-Fiction Writers Association (NFFO); chairman of the Board of Kopinor, The Norwegian Reprographic Rights Organisation. He has done research in United States, Nigeria, Zimbabwe, Mozambique, and has published books and articles on media and communication, freedom of expression, culture and literary issues, media and development and democracy, broadcasting regulation, cultural policies.
