Hilary McLaughlin-Stonham

Dr Hilary McLaughlin-Stonham has just completed her Ph.D. in American history from Ulster University. Her research examines race relations on streetcars in New Orleans with a particular focus on de jure motivation and the de facto reality of segregated transport. Previously a museum professional, she also holds an MA in heritage management from Bangor University and an MA in History from Glasgow University. While her interest continues in both African American and black British history, her current research project examines transport as a means of social exclusion.
