Holly Swyers
Holly Swyers earned her Ph.D. in anthropology from the University of Chicago and now works as an associate professor of Anthropology at Lake Forest College in Lake Forest, IL, USA. Her research specialty is US culture, looking particularly at how people create social relationships and identities in the American context. Her work focuses on how people respond to the social pressures of their particular historical moment and environment to sort themselves into groups. Her most recent publications and presentations have explored patterns of coming of age and crafting adulthood among young Americans. She has also written widely on collaboration and pedagogical approaches in anthropology. She is the author of the book Wrigley Regulars: Finding Community in the Bleachers.
