Howard Sercombe
Howard Sercombe is a community and youth work practitioner, academic and researcher, with degrees in social and political theory, theology, social work and sociology. His research interests include the constitution of youth as a social category, its representation in the media and in scientific (especially neuroscientific) discourse, the intersection of professional, academic and practice knowledges, and professional ethics. He is the author of Youth Work Ethics (Sage, 2010) and co-author of Youth Studies: An Australian Perspective (Pearson, 1998) and Youth and the Future (National Youth Affairs Research Scheme, 2002). He has published across a wide range of subjects, alone or with others, ranging from analyses of the Aboriginal economy to bullying. He currently teaches criminology at the University of New South Wales.
