Hugo Boothby
Hugo Boothby is a Ph.D. candidate in media and communication studies at Malmö University, Sweden. His Ph.D. research addresses the politics of listening. He has a special interest in radio studies presenting on transversal methods within radio research, as part of the radio studies panel at MeCCSA 2019. Recent publications include ‘Radio waves, children’s rights, and community communication’ (Journal of African Media Studies, 2019), which explores the use of community radio in support of child rights in Tanzania. Before taking up a post teaching media studies and radio production at Malmö University (2010–19), he worked for ten years with BBC World Service Radio in London.
