Isabel L. Krakoff

Isabel Krakoff is currently a Ph.D. student in sociology at York University in Toronto, Ontario. Her current research analyses the intersection of sexual orientation and political identification within the LGBTQ community in the United States, with a particular emphasis on understanding the role of race in these identification processes. Prior to moving to Toronto for her Ph.D., she completed her MA in international affairs, with a concentration in global gender policy. She spent the last five years in the Washington, DC area working as an international development practitioner where she advocated for incorporating a gender-sensitive lens into mixed-methods evaluations of international development programmes. Her research interests lie in the study of race and racism, critical sexuality studies, political sociology, global gender policy and mixed-methods research.
