J. C. Bernthal
J. C. Brenthal is an academic with special interests in Agatha Christie and gender theory who is currently a visiting fellow in creative writing at the University of Suffolk. His publications include Queering Agatha Christie: Revisiting the Golden Age of Detective Fiction (Palgrave Macmillan, 2016) and Agatha Christie: A Companion to the Mystery Fiction (McFarland, 2022). He also edited The Ageless Agatha Christie: Essays on the Mysteries and the Legacy (McFarland, 2016) and was co-editor of Agatha Christie Goes to War (Routledge, 2020), with Rebecca Mills. He co-edited The Bloomsbury Handbook to Agatha Christie (Bloomsbury, 2022), with Mary Anna Evans. Jamie was awarded the Popular Culture Association’s George N. Dove Award for advancing crime fiction scholarship.
