J. J. Zhang

J. J. Zhang is assistant professor in human geography at the National Institute of Education, Nanyang Technological University, Singapore. He obtained his Ph.D. in the field of cultural geography from the University of Durham, UK. His doctoral research on cross-border tourism between China and Taiwan was supported by the Research Grant for Foreign Scholars in Chinese Studies administered by Taiwan’s Center for Chinese Studies. Prior to his return to Singapore, he was assistant professor of tourism and leisure studies in the Department of Geography at the University of Hong Kong. J.J.’s research interests include border studies, material culture and critical tourism studies in the Asia Pacific.
