Jake Lynch

Jake Lynch is an associate professor of peace and conflict studies at the University of Sydney. He is the most published and most cited author in the field of peace journalism, with seven books and over 60 refereed articles and book chapters to his credit. A Global Standard for Reporting Conflict, which he published through Routledge in 2014, was named ‘Book of the Conference’ by the Conflict Research Society. He spent 2020 in the United Kingdom as a Leverhulme visiting professor at the Centre for Trust, Peace and Social Relations at Coventry University. For his contributions to peace journalism theory and practice, he was honoured with the Luxembourg Peace Prize in 2017. Before taking up an academic post, he enjoyed a near twenty-year career in UK media, including as a political correspondent for Sky News at Westminster, and the Sydney correspondent for The Independent. He went on to present over 1000 live bulletins as a newsreader for BBC World Television News. His debut novel, Blood on the Stone, a historical mystery thriller, was published in 2019 by Unbound.
