Jamel Zran

Jamel Zran (Ph.D.) is professor of media and communication at the Institute of Journalism and Information Sciences, University of Manouba, Tunisia. He previously worked at Qatar University and served as editor-in-chief and director of the Tunisian Cultural Radio (public radio) in 2012. His research interests include social media networks in the Arab world, media ethics and Arab media issues in the new communication environment. He co-edited various books, among which are Media and Democratic Transition in the Arab World (Sotumedia and AMCN 2019), with Noureddine Miladi. Jamel Zran was awarded a major grant from the Qatar National Research Fund to study ‘Media and National Identity in Qatar, Case Study: Al-Rayyan Channel and Its Audience’.
