Jamie J. Zhao
Jamie J. Zhao is a Chinese queer TV and fan scholar. She received her Ph.D. in gender studies from the Chinese University of Hong Kong in 2016. Currently, she is conducting her second Ph.D. project on the queer glocalization of Chinese TV in the Department of Film and TV Studies at the University of Warwick, United Kingdom. Her work has appeared in a number of academic journals, such as Media Fields, Intersections and Feminist Media Studies, and she is a co-editor with Maud Lavin and Ling Yang of Boys’ Love, Cosplay, and Androgynous Idols: Queer Fan Cultures in Mainland China, Hong Kong, and Taiwan (HKUP, 2017).
