Jana M. Hawley
Jana Hawley, Ph.D., is dean and professor of the College of Merchandising, Hospitality, and Tourism at the University of North Texas. Hawley is a Fulbright Scholar to India, HERS Fellow, Southeastern Conference (SEC) Administrators Leadership Development Fellow, International Textile Apparel Association Fellow, a Kemper Excellence in Teaching Recipient and Global Scholar to Thailand, India and Turkey. She served as president of the International Textile and Apparel Association and is currently a board member of the Board on Human Sciences. Throughout her career she has focused on qualitative methods to understand her research areas, including sustainability, textile recycling, craft artisans and global initiatives. She is the author or co-author of more than 100 publications and proceedings, several of which have received honours. For eight years, she has served as an artisan assistant at the International Folk Art Market in Santa Fe, New Mexico.
