Janelize Morelli

Janelize Morelli (Ph.D.) is a senior lecturer in community music at the North-West University. She is the manager of the Musikhane Community Music Engagement Program, which was initiated in 1995 by Bertha Spies. She is an active member of the Musical Arts in Southern Africa: Research and Applications Research Niche (MASARA), and her research interests include the ethics of community music practices, service-learning in higher music education and arts-based methods. Janelize supervises postgraduate students in music education and community music with interest in critical theory, transformative research and emergent qualitative methods.
