Janice Forsyth
Janice Forsyth is an associate professor in the School of Kinesiology, Faculty of Health Sciences, and former Director of the International Centre for Olympic Studies (ICOS) at Western University, London, Ontario, Canada. She specializes in Canadian and Olympic sport history, and has a specific interest in Aboriginal people and sport. Her projects have attracted well over a half million dollars in research funding from the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council, university, and government agencies. Outside of academe, she frequently provides leadership and direction to government and service organizations, including the Aboriginal Sport Circle, the national body for Aboriginal sport development in Canada. Her expertise has made her one of the world’s leading commentators on Olympic related matters. She is a member of the Fisher River Cree First Nation (Manitoba).
