Javere Pinnock

Javere is a Jamaican-American art therapist whose work centres on cultural identity, storytelling and coping with trauma. He is trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Indigenous Tools for Living (ITFL) and currently offers art therapy in a psychiatric hospital and private practice. He is an adjunct professor and educator, who has provided workshops in-person and virtually to local and global audiences. He is passionate about digital media and currently serves on the New York Art Therapy Association (NYATA) board as the digital media manager. He has also worked with varying communities impacted by gun violence and racial trauma. He relaxes by consuming pop culture and making thought-provoking illustrations for the ’gram, by night.
