Jeffrey A. Tolbert

Jeffrey A. Tolbert is assistant professor of American studies and folklore at Penn State Harrisburg. He is co-editor, with Michael Dylan Foster, of The Folkloresque: Reframing Folklore in a Popular Culture World (Utah State University Press, 2016) and the follow-up volume, Möbius Media: Popular Culture, Folklore, and the Folkloresque (Utah State University Press, forthcoming). He has published articles on the Internet Monster, Slender Man and other areas of digital folklore, as well as supernatural belief, and is preparing a Special Issue of Semiotic Review on the topic of ostension. His current manuscript project is an exploration of the folkloresque in the horror genre.
