Jessica Bradley

Jessica Bradley is a sociolinguist and educational engagement practitioner based in the School of Education at the University of Leeds and part of the AHRC-funded Translation and Translanguaging Project (www.birmingham.ac.uk/tlang). Through her research she investigates multilingual practices in production and performance in community arts settings, with a particular focus on street arts. She is interested in how concepts of flexible and fluid multilingualism provide ways of understanding communication within arts-based projects. In particular, she focuses on ‘translanguaging’ as a repertoire-based approach to communication. She is also an experienced higher education practitioner having worked developing, delivering and evaluating research-based projects with children and young people. Her research interests and her practice intersect around language and the arts.
