Jessica Elam
Jessica Elam is adjunct professor of communication and English at Rockhurst University. She holds a BS in biology with an emphasis in biotechnology from Webster University and an MA in anthropology from East Carolina University, and she is a former US Army Captain. Her research interests include materialist media studies, critical/cultural studies and critical and interpretive methods. She is especially interested in the work of media theorist Friedrich Kittler and the intersections of automation, military media technologies and governance. Her recent work involves genealogies of Cold War-era media technologies and war game simulations.
