Jim Clemmet
Dr Jim Clemmet BSc. PhD. Beagle 2 Chief Engineer 1998-2003. Extensive experience in spacecraft system, subsystem and equipment design and technology after a career lasting 39 years in the UK’s space industry mainly at what is now known as Airbus Defence and Space. Responsibilities have extended from composites technology development, antenna mechanical design, satellite structures, space mechanisms, bi-propellant propulsion to system design and configuration. Roles have progressed from equipment design to departmental management and business development before becoming heavily involved in the UK and ESA’s Mars missions. Retired in 2013 after six years as Engineering Manager for the ExoMars Rover Vehicle at Airbus.
