Joachim Froese
Dr Joachim Froese is a practicing artist and independent scholar of photography. Teaching regularly at tertiary institutions in Australia and Germany he currently holds appointments as a sessional lecturer for photography at the Queensland College of Art, Griffith University, and the QUT Creative Industry Faculty in Brisbane. His artwork is represented in numerous public collections, including the National Gallery of Australia and the National Portrait Gallery of Australia. This article expands on practice-led research undertaken for a Ph.D. (Art) completed at the end of 2017 at RMIT University in Melbourne that explored photography’s capacity to investigate human categorizations of nature.
