Joana Rodrigues-Carvalho

Joana Rodrigues-Carvalho has been a university professor since 2003 and passionate about gymnastics, with a career marked by dedication to Women’s Artistic Gymnastics. Over the decades, she has built a career as a coach, international judge and trainer in the field. Over the years she stood out as a high-performance coach, guiding elite athletes in national and international competitions, as well as two Olympic Games 2024 and 2021, seven World Championships, ten European Championships and several competitions at international and national level. Currently, as a university professor, she dedicates herself to training new generations of professionals in the areas of sports, basic education and social education passing on her experience and enthusiasm to them. Her recent publications include: ‘Active methodologies in higher education: An interdisciplinary project applied to teachers’ education’ in Mesquita et al.
