Joaquín Roldán
Joaquín Roldán has a bachelor degree in fine arts and Ph.D. in visual arts and education. He was appointed as assistant professor at the University of Granada (Spain) in 1999. He is artist, teacher and researcher in art education, teacher education, curriculum practices, visual arts-based educational research and arts-based methodologies in teaching and research, among others. He won a national award for sculpture in 1994 and 1995, has worked in the Museum Villa de Rota and the contemporary art collection of the University of Granada. Recent publications are related with photography and ethnography, Sudán, 2004; Arts Based Research and Teaching – Mapas de la mirada (Maps of Seeing) (2006); Diálogo de imágenes (Dialog of Images) (2007); El otro lado (The Other Side) (2010); Visual Arts-Based Methods in Educational Research – Metodologías Artísticas de Investigación en Educación (Arts Based Methodologies in Educational Research) (2012); Visual A/r/tography in Art Museums (2014). His interests in research are centred on the use of visual art images in research and teaching in educational settings and themes.
