Johanne Sloan

Johanne Sloan is professor and chair of the Department of Art History at Concordia University. She has written extensively about contemporary art in Canada, with an emphasis on the artist/filmmaker Joyce Wieland, and the visual culture of Expo 67, the world’s fair held in Montreal during the summer of 1967. Her article, ‘Urban Art Histories (in Canada)’ appeared in Narratives Unfolding: National Art Histories in an Unfinished World (2017). She is co-editor, with Martha Langford, of a forthcoming book on Montreal and photography.
