John Graziano

John Graziano is professor emeritus of music at the Graduate Center and City College, City University of New York. He is the series editor for A-R Editions’ Recent Researches in American Music, series editor for American Music and Musicians for Pendragon Press and director of NEH-funded ‘We the People’ project, Music in Gotham, which is documenting events with music in New York City from September 1862 through to August 1875. The results for the first four years are available through a free Internet database. He has presented extensively on early twentieth-century musical theatre, including African American shows. He served as president of the Society for American Music from 2007 to 2009.
