John R. Severn
John R. Severn is a research fellow at Macquarie University working on the collaborative Australian Research Council Discovery Project ‘Assessing the Economic and Cultural Value of Australian Theatre’ (Grant Number DP200101215). To date, his wider work has focused on the intersections of adaptation, community and various forms of music theatre. He is the author of Shakespeare as Jukebox Musical (Routledge, 2019), the co-editor of Theatre and Internationalization: Perspectives from Australia, Germany and Beyond with Ulrike Garde (Routledge, 2021) and the co-editor of Barrie Kosky’s Transnational Theatres with James Phillips (Springer, 2021). He is currently completing a monograph on opera and adaptation.
