Jonathan A. Smith
Jonathan A. Smith is a professor of psychology at Birkbeck College, University of London where he teaches qualitative methods at all levels. He developed interpretative phenomenological analysis (IPA) as a distinctive experiential qualitative methodology and has applied it to a wide range of research topics. He is lead author on the best-selling key text on IPA, Interpretative Phenomenological Analysis: Theory, Method, and Research (Sage, 2009). He has published more than 100 refereed journal articles. Jonathan leads the IPA Research Group at Birkbeck.
