Jordan A. Arellanes
Jordan Arellanes, Ph.D., is an assistant professor of developmental psychology at Illinois State University. Jordan obtained his Ph.D. in human development and family studies at Iowa State University. He is a mixed methodologist who studies inclusion, diversity, equity and action (IDEA); Latino students’ school success; and fatherhood. Jordan’s research focuses on how people develop their roles in society and how the influence of others (friends, parents, teachers, coaches) impacts the desire to maintain or adapt to those societal roles. It is his belief that systemic changes begin with positive relationships and experiences. Recently, his work has been published in Teaching of Psychology, the Journal of Latinos and Education and the Journal of Research in Personality.
